Zbrašov Aragonite Caves

 
Discovered in 1912 these caves are a unique and important European cave system and have been open to the public since 1926. Its unique decorations consist of the mineral aragonite with typical formations of geyser stalagmites and spherical, sintered coatings in the shape of donuts. Hranice chasm, the deepest chasm in the Czech Republic can be found nearby. Its total depth has not yet been explored. Experts estimate the total depth to be about 700 meters although, so far, only 274.5 m of its depth have been reached. Further information.
